Indoor Adaptive Rowing Classification

Competitors with a physical, visual, or learning impairment entering Adaptive events must complete the appropriate classification before entries close.

There are two routes:

Option 1: Physical Impairment (PI) Classification

This involves:

  • Medical evaluation and
  • Technical assessment on the rowing machine or water

You’ll be given one of four outcomes:

  • Para Class
  • Adaptive Class
  • Indoor Adaptive Rowing Class (IAR1–7)
  • Ineligible (does not meet minimum criteria)

Option 2: Self-Declaration Form

If not eligible for Para or Adaptive classes, athletes can enter the Adaptive Open category by completing a self-declaration form.
